To start off the week we had an exchange with my bois Elder Schoeneman and Elder Billeter. Essentially all we had planned for 24 hours was knocking, and I love knocking and so does Elder Schoeneman. Theres this beezt of a trailer park here in Indianola, so we just went to it and knocked the whole thing out. One of my favorite parts of being a missionary is going places I would have never gone to if I wasn't a missionary and talking to people that I normally wouldn't talk to either. We talked to a lot of interesting people in there. Pretty early on in the day, Elder Schoeneman and I befriended a cat. Elder Schoeneman just held this cat in his arms for like 4 or 5 hours and it was having the time of its life. We took lots of fotos with him. Deep in the trailer park we knocked on a door and found a hispanic family! Finding hispanic people in indianola is like finding Elder Thomas at a salad bar. It just doesn't happen. Theyre way cool, they also speak english except the dad, whose middle name is Moroni and is a long lost member. What a find.
We had 6 or 7 people that were firmly committed to coming to church. On saturday we heard whisperings of a massive storm, 40 mile per hour winds, and over a foot of snow. We were not pleased. We did a lot of praying that the storm would pass us by so church wouldn't get cancelled. we woke up sunday and were thrilled to find just some rain. Yippee! Then it started dumping snow and church got cancelled.
But next week! God has a plan. Because church was cancelled, we found ourselves with some extra time to go knock. It was a great time. I love being here
I love you all a lot! I love Jesus Christ and I know this is his church.
